21st Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A

   23 - 24 August 2008

Thanksgiving Appeal Renewal of Envelope Collection

As foreshadowed a few weeks ago, the Parish will be beginning a renewal of envelopes and contributions appeal, starting with the main parish information meeting on Tuesday, 9th September. This has been necessary as our financial situation, even with Diocesan assistance, is still rather precarious. Even in these difficult financial times, I am hoping that you will be able to assist. But more on that over the next few weeks.

The appeal itself will take place during the month of September, and for this reason, the Bishops’ Annual Appeal for Retired and Sick Priests scheduled to be held on 6-7 September will be postponed till later.

Thanks you for your continued generosity.

Fr Wim Hoekstra

PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE

From the First Sunday of September 2008, the Solemn Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral Parramatta will be celebrated every Sunday at 11.00am. This means that we will use incense and the Parish Choir will sing at the 11.00am Mass. (and not at the 9.30am Mass)

The singing at the 9.30am Mass will be led by a Cantor. The Liturgy of the Word for Children will continue to be celebrated at the 9.30am Mass each Sunday during the school term.
