Volunteers Needed! Exercise, Fun, Faith in Action

Are you able to spare just 2 - 3 hours of your time, ideally on the weekend of 23/24 (or 30/31) August to join St Patrick’s great Vinnies Doorknock Team?

Encourage your family and friends to join you! No one too old! Make a team (of 2 or 4 adults), or we’ll place you in one of our friendly teams.

Here is an opportunity to put our faith into action. Without a word being spoken, the Doorknock spreads the Lord’s message of love and compassion throughout our local community. And the money collected is critical for the on-going support for the sick, abused, lonely and marginalised in our own backyard.

If you haven’t already received a letter, please contact Gerard Gilchrist on 0411 306 307.

Calling the Youth of our Parish

CALLING THE YOUTH OF OUR PARISH ! We are about to re-invigorate the YOUTH GROUP in our parish. We are very anxious to hear from anyone between 16 and 35! If you fit into this category, and are not already involved in St Pat’s Youth, then please seriously consider contacting Fr. Suresh ASAP.

Did you notice these changes last weekend?

ENTRANCE PROCESSION

  • The Book of the Gospels will be carried in procession by the second reader. It will be placed on the altar before the altar is incensed.

COMMUNION CHANGES

  • Ministers of communion will not approach the altar before the priest has received Communion.
  • The Acolyte will administer the chalice to the communicants. (it may be necessary for another extra-ordinary Minister to also administer the Chalice).
  • After Communion is completed, all chalices are to be brought back to the altar.
  • Extraordinary ministers or acolytes will not consume the Precious Blood which remains.
  • The acolyte will carry the sacred vessels to the credence table and will purify them in the usual way. Only the acolyte can assist the priest or deacon in purifying the sacred vessels (cups, ciboria and patens).
  • When Mass is celebrated in the Chapel the Celebrant will return the Ciborium to the Tabernacle, while the acolyte carries the other vessels to the credence table.
